Pride Month 2025: Organizers announce educational events, discussions with LGBTQ+ military, and KyivPride March
This year’s Pride Month in Ukraine will feature cultural, educational, and human rights events. Key activities are scheduled for June 7 and 14. Highlights include educational programs at the VDNH Expo Center’s “Kit” pavilion, provided by Kurazh Bazar, and the Equality March.
Anna Sharyhina, co-founder of the Kharkiv-based women’s association Sphere and PrideHub resource center, shared these details during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“On June 7, the KYT pavilion at the National Expocenter Complex will host a series of educational events across two stages, including lectures and discussions.”
“We are planning a series of educational events, which will take place on June 7 at the National Expocenter Complex in the KYT pavilion, provided to us by Kurazh Bazaar. There will be two stages where lectures will be held,” she said.
The focus of this year’s Pride Month is to strengthen Ukraine’s European integration course.
“Our main focus this year, our goal, is to strengthen Ukraine on its path to the European Union. And we want all people who work in Europe, who are responsible for or may be involved in Ukraine’s European integration process, who make decisions or take such decisions, to see our spiritually free state that values human rights,” Sharyhina stressed.
As part of the educational block, there will be a discussion with representatives of the Council of Europe, where they will share best practices for advancing human rights in member states. A separate open conversation with LGBT+ military personnel is also planned.
The organizers have also planned a screening of Ukrainian short films, a fair featuring LGBTQ+-friendly businesses, workshops, and mental health relaxation sessions.
The culmination of Pride Month will be the KyivPride march, which is scheduled to take place on June 14. The organizers are currently coordinating its holding with the city authorities and the police.
“This year, we have been in extensive communication with various representatives of civil society and public organizations, including volunteer organizations and movements that have assisted, participated in, and collaborated with us to raise funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Some partners will even hold their own events in support of Pride Month, which is also very valuable,” Sharyhina added.
