Power rationing in Ukraine is set to extend until August
The electricity limitations imposed in Ukraine just a day ago will persist throughout the summer.
Yurii Boiko, Adviser to the Prime Minister and Member of the Ukrenergo Supervisory Board made the announcement during a discussion at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
He stated, “Regarding the limitations initiated just a day ago, it’s no secret that, in my estimation, we’ll be enduring these conditions until late August.
However, he hinted at a potential slight improvement by August or September.
“In August-September, I anticipate a slight improvement due to several factors. First, nuclear generation repairs will transition out of their active phase. Additionally, solar generation will remain robust thanks to continued sunshine, with the surplus now being fully absorbed within the system. Furthermore, temperatures will likely cool down from the scorching heat, reducing the usual spike in demand during the hottest months. Consequently, August-September is projected to either approach equilibrium or operate with minimal deficit,” Boiko elaborated.
