People with disabilities face barriers in accessing education – OPORA study reveals

Although education is nominally accessible to all in Ukraine, people with disabilities encounter systemic obstacles. This information was presented at the Media Center Ukraine in a new study by the Civil Network OPORA.

“People with disabilities face systemic issues in accessing education at various levels. This includes infrastructure challenges, as well as a lack of career guidance programs and mentoring support,” said Olha Snopok, an analyst at the Civic Network OPORA.

The study also shows that people with disabilities face barriers to political participation.

The conceptual framework of the study was developed by OPORA’s research team, while the polling was carried out by the Rating Sociological Group. The survey polled 2,400 respondents with 2,200 Ukrainians living in government-controlled areas of the country and 400 currently residing abroad.
