Over the past week, 9 civilians were injured in Kharkiv Oblast – spokesman of the Main Office of SESU in Kharkiv region Yevhen Vasylenko

On September 11, Kharkiv Media Hub held a weekly briefing by Yevhen Vasylenko, the spokesperson of the Main Office of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region. The speaker summed up the results of last week and talked about the situation in Kharkiv Oblast.

According to Yevhen Vasylenko, during the past week, from September 4 to 10, employees of the Kharkiv Oblast State Emergency Service made 183 exits under the “Alarm” signal. 125 fires were extinguished, including 20 related to hostilities and 72 fires in ecosystems.

There were also 32 trips of rescuers to the places of traffic accidents and to help the population and to examine the consequences of enemy shelling. One person was saved, ten were evacuated. Unfortunately, one person died.

In the period from September 4 to 10, 2023, sappers of the State Emergency Service were involved 234 times to dispose of explosive or unknown objects and destroyed more than 570 munitions.

According to the spokesman of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, at the moment, 33 pyrotechnic calculations, 161 sappers and 67 units of equipment of the combined detachment of the State Emergency Service are working in the region for the purpose of surveying power lines.

-Since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of pyrotechnics, more than 3,575 hectares of territory and 2,550 km of power lines have been surveyed, and more than 77,000 explosive objects have been detected and neutralized, Vasylenko noted.

Unfortunately, despite the warning of the rescuers about the prohibition of movement on unexplored routes, there continue to be cases of detonation of residents of the region with unknown explosive objects. Yes, over the past week, 9 civilians were injured due to their own carelessness.

-In particular, on September 6, unknown explosives blew up 2 civilian cars. Thus, a GAZ-53 truck came across an unknown explosive object on a dirt road in a forest massif on the territory of the Savinsk community. Two men who were in the car suffered numerous casualties as a result of the explosion. The second accident occurred near the village. Vilkhuvatka of the Kupyansk district: while driving on a dirt road, a passenger car also ran into an unknown object, which detonated. A 59-year-old man was injured. He received a mine-explosive injury and burns, – said the speaker.

According to him, the next day, information was received from the National Police that as a result of the damage to the truck as a result of an explosion at an unknown object near the village. Mospanove, Chuhuyiv district, a man and a woman received significant injuries. Currently, doctors assess their health condition as serious.

On the same day, a second event happened in a field near the town of Barvinkove, Izyum district. Earlier, a tractor of a local agro-enterprise was blown up by a cluster munition. The driver, a man born in 1981, was injured. At the moment, he is in Barvinkove City Hospital, his life is not in danger.
