Over five cities at risk of losing heating this winter

Several cities remain in high-risk zones and are critically unprepared for winter, particularly in the face of potential attacks.

Oleksandr Kharchenko, Director of the Energy Industry Research Center, stated this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“The most glaring example is Kryvyi Rih, where parts of the city were left without heating last year. There is a real risk of the same thing happening again this winter. Efforts must be doubled there to ensure people have heat. Other at-risk cities include Sumy, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, and Zaporizhzhia, where strikes can occur at any time and cannot be stopped. Kyiv is also at risk because it heavily depends on its thermal power plants. Despite doing a lot to protect its infrastructure, the threat remains,” said Kharchenko.
