Over 70,000 missing persons in Ukraine: most cases will only be clarified after war ends – Artur Dobroserdov
As of today, over 70,000 people in Ukraine are registered as missing under special circumstances. However, determining the circumstances of most disappearances will only be possible after the war ends or at least once active combat subsides.
Artur Dobroserdov, the Commissioner for Missing Persons Under Special Circumstances, stated this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“While the current number of missing persons exceeds 70,000, we will only be able to uncover the truth about most cases after the war ends or active hostilities cease. Only then can we obtain information from the aggressor country about individuals held captive or taken hostage. It also depends on providing practical access for search teams to operate in combat zones, gray areas, and especially in occupied territories,” he emphasized.
