Over 7,000 State Emergency Service rescuers on duty during Easter days

On Easter, over 7,000 rescuers of the State Emergency Service and more than 2,200 units of rescue and special equipment are on duty in case of emergencies.

Oleksandr Khorunzhyi, Press Officer of the State Emergency Service, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“We are preparing for Easter, and we have over 7,000 rescuers and more than 2,200 units of fire, rescue and other special equipment ready for duty. Should the need arise, these forces and means of the State Emergency Service can be bolstered, as there are appropriate reserves. In response to circumstances, we additionally attract reserves and coordinate our units to eliminate an emergency or fire as soon as possible,” said Oleksandr Khorunzhyi.

He also reported that on the eve of Easter, the staff of the State Emergency Service conducted about 13,000 briefings with the clergy and temple workers on what to do in case of an emergency.
