The most important thing is the result, and for Ukraine it turned out to be positive. Almost all the countries that participated in the Saudi Arabia Summit agreed that peace in the russo-Ukrainian war can only happen on Ukraine’s terms. First of all, the main step is to restore the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. Yehor Cherniev, MP, Chairman at the Verkhovna Rada’s Permanent Delegation to the NATO PA, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“The peace summit held in Saudi Arabia was initiated by the President of Ukraine. The meeting took place at the level of advisers of the countries, and the absolute majority of them took the side of common sense, that is, the pro-Ukrainian position. In addition, the representatives of the countries agreed that russia, as a state, is obliged to bear responsibility for all the war crimes it committed.”
The Saudi Arabia Summit has come to an end, and preparations for the global peace summit, where the heads of states will meet, have now begun. During his briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform, Yehor Cherniev also pointed that russia had not participated in the summit, and this shows that the hostile position of the country’s aggressors is not heeded.
