Over 20,000 people evacuated from borderland communities of Kharkiv oblast – Military Oblast Administration
The local authorities are trying to take the necessary measures to evacuate people from the borderland communities of Kharkiv Oblast.
Yevhen Ivanov, Deputy Head of Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“It (forced evacuation – Ed.) has been happening since September 23. Since then, more than 20,000 people have been evacuated in total across our borderland communities. And we insist on this evacuation, and we are trying to take measures, where it is necessary to talk to people, so that it can still happen. Because really not all local residents, especially those who already stayed and went through a difficult path this year after the occupation, do not want to leave by default. Certain measures are needed to prove this necessity to people, which we are taking,” he said.
