Over 2,000 Ukrainians find refuge from the war in Japan
Today, there are about 2,011 Ukrainians living in Japan after they were forced to leave Ukraine because of the war.
Sergiy Korsunsky, Ukraine’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Japan, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“The number of those who entered (Japan – Ed.) is approximately 2,508, but some Ukrainians went back and today it is difficult to say the exact number of Ukrainians in Japan. We operate with the number of approximately 2,011 people who are staying and, as we understand, will continue their stay for the third year, due to the fact that they simply have nowhere to return to,” said Sergiy Korsunsky.
According to the Ambassador, there are a lot of citizens from Donetsk, Luhansk and Kherson regions among the Ukrainians who are currently in Japan.
