Over 180,000 war crimes registered in Ukraine – Office of the Prosecutor General
Oleksandr Ziuz, head of the Department for Interaction with Intergovernmental, State, and Non-Governmental Organizations at the Office for Organizational, Methodological, and Analytical Support for the Department for Countering Crimes Committed in Conditions of Armed Conflict at the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, made this statement during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“More than 211,000 crimes related to russian aggression have already been registered in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations, with over 180,000 of them being war crimes. Such a volume is challenging for any system. The workload on investigators and prosecutors is immense,” he emphasized.
Ziuz noted that the prosecutor’s office frequently utilizes digital solutions in its work.
“A prime example of the successful application of digital solutions is the Darnytskyi District Court’s verdict regarding the Crimean military commissar, where most of the case was built on evidence from open sources, as we do not have access to that territory,” he said.
