Over 17,000 Ukrainian first-year students receive government grants – Education Ministry

More than 17,000 first-year students in Ukraine have received government grants to support their studies, according to Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykola Trofymenko speaking at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.  

“This year, over 17,000 such grants were awarded to first-year students – a 19.3 percent increase from last year,” Trofymenko said. “The most popular fields among grant recipients include psychology, law, automobile transport, and philology.”

Currently, students can receive grants worth either 17,000 or 25,000 UAH, depending on their academic performance.
