One in seven schools in Ukraine has been damaged in the wake of enemy attacks
More than 200 schools have been totally destroyed and more than 1,600 damaged as a result of enemy aerial barrages across the country.
It was announced by Andriy Stashkiv, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“As for destroyed school infrastructure in Ukraine as a whole, more than 200 educational institutions were destroyed and more than 1600 educational facilities were damaged. In relative numbers, that’s one in seven schools in Ukraine that have been damaged. And this certainly resulted in hampering access to education for children,” the Deputy Minister noted.
According to Andriy Stashkiv, about 900 thousand children in Ukraine are currently having remote classes.
“Unable to attend schools, they had to study using distance learning technologies. And in wartime, this is a real challenge for both teachers and students,” he added.
