On August 26, Ukraine was struck by a large-scale assault on around 57 sites, including residential areas and vital infrastructure

During a large-scale assault on Ukraine on August 26, Russian forces targeted approximately 57 sites, striking both residential areas and critical infrastructure. The attacks affected numerous buildings across various sectors, prompting an extensive emergency response in 18 regions of the country.

Oleksandr Khorunzhiy, the Press Officer for Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES), shared details of the devastation during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine. 

“The enemy struck approximately 57 locations, including residential buildings and critical infrastructure,” the Press Officer reported.

According to Khorunzhiy, in the aftermath of the attacks, over 740 SES personnel and 176 units of specialized equipment were deployed to the affected areas. Firefighters and rescue teams worked tirelessly, extinguishing 22 fires and saving two lives. The response also involved the use of fire and rescue vehicles, along with special and engineering equipment, to manage the crisis.
