No radiation impact on Ukraine recorded after strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities

Environmental conditions around the attacked facilities have not changed in terms of radiation exposure, and no elevated radiation levels have been detected. The strikes on nuclear facilities in Iran have had no impact on Ukraine.

Oleh Korikov, head of Ukraine’s State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate, announced this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“This is indeed a resonant event. First, the environmental conditions around the attacked facilities have not changed in terms of radiation impact, and there are no radiation level exceedances. Second, we modeled and calculated the potential spread of contaminants from these sites into the environment and their possible effects on Ukraine. I can assure you that the farthest possible radius of contamination toward Ukraine would be the border between Iran and Afghanistan. Beyond that, we see no contamination that would require countermeasures on Ukrainian territory,” Korikov said.
