No power supply restrictions expected for households this summer – Oleksandr Kharchenko
Ukraine is not expected to face any electricity supply restrictions for households this summer, and the risk of limitations for businesses remains low, according to Oleksandr Kharchenko, director of the Energy Industry Research Center.
Speaking at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine, Kharchenko said, “I do not expect any restrictions this year, unless large-scale attacks on the energy infrastructure resume. Based on the calculations made by the Research Center, there should be no restrictions for the population, and restrictions for businesses are unlikely. Overall, the available capacity should be sufficient for current needs.”
He also noted that absolute certainty is not possible under the current conditions.
“Of course, it’s impossible to predict the situation with 100% accuracy, as a significant amount of information remains classified or inaccessible at this time. We rely on secondary data and estimates, so naturally, we cannot offer full guarantees,” Kharchenko explained.
