No other options but to strengthen air defense – Yurii Ihnat

In order to protect the whole of Ukraine in all the directions that the enemy attacks from, it is necessary to strengthen air defense. While we are expecting F-16s, air defense systems can still come much faster, both additional Western-made air defense missiles and the systems themselves: NASAMS, Patriot, SAMP-T, and IRIS-T.

Yurii Ihnat, Spokesperson of the Air Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“This is the basis of the Air Force that will protect Ukraine throughout the territory of our country and will replace the old soviet systems. I think that it will also take a certain amount of time, but there is no other way – we need to become stronger. Moreover, do not forget that the winter period is coming soon, when the russians will probably engage in certain provocations. That’s why we have no other options – we have to get stronger!” – he emphasized.
