No extreme heat in early July: Forecaster outlines Ukraine’s upcoming weather
Ukraine is in for warm, summer weather in early July, but without the scorching temperatures that define a heat wave.
Nataliia Ptukha, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, shared the forecast during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine, noting that while it will be hot, temperatures are expected to stay below dangerous thresholds.
“So far, we haven’t issued any heat wave warnings, a heat wave is classified as temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius and above,” Ptukha said. “But we are closely monitoring the situation. If those levels are reached, particularly in the southern regions, we will certainly issue an alert.”
Ptukha added that the start of July will bring seasonally typical summer weather, consistent with patterns observed over the past decade.
“Most regions will see temperatures between 25 and 30 degrees,” she said. “In the South, as well as in Zakarpattia and parts of Prykarpattia, temperatures will rise above 30 degrees.”
