No emergency aid needed as Ukraine’s energy system holds steady, with power exports surpassing imports during sunny months

Ukraine’s energy system remains stable, secure, and does not require emergency support, according to Oleksandr Kharchenko, director of the Energy Industry Research Center who made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine. 

“Ukraine does not need emergency assistance. This is evidence of a healthy situation in the power system,” he said. “We do not take emergency aid. Imports and exports are carried out on a completely commercial basis. By the way, during the sunny months, exports prevail over imports.”

However, Kharchenko cautioned that the outlook could shift quickly if russian forces intensify their hostile attacks on coal and gas generation, leading to a crisis.
