No disruptions in ammunition supply, State Border Guard Service spokesperson asserts

There are no disruptions in the supply of ammunition under contracts concluded by the State Border Guard Service (SBGS), according to Andrii Demchenko, the agency’s spokesperson. He clarified that procurement is proceeding as per the terms outlined in the contracts, with any delays limited to categories unrelated to ammunition.

Demchenko addressed the issue during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine, emphasizing that delays pertain to other supplies and not to ammunition.

Regarding outstanding payments, Demchenko revealed that the total amount of receivables owed by the State Border Guard Service is UAH 26.5 billion. However, he pointed out that a substantial portion of this debt is not overdue.

“What does accounts receivable mean? Essentially, when funds were paid under contracts in December before the delivery dates, that constitutes the receivable,” Demchenko explained.

He elaborated that UAH 23 billion of the receivables relate to contracts signed in December, and no payments are overdue on this amount.

“There are no overdue receivables on the 23 billion. In fact, the delivery dates have not been met, and the timeline has been extended throughout this year. As for the remaining 3.5 billion, 1.7 billion of that amount is overdue—just over a month overdue at this point. However, this does not apply to ammunition; it pertains to other funds outlined in the contracts, and this delay is again due to force majeure circumstances,” stated Andrii Demchenko.

SBGS spokesperson added that the conditions are clearly outlined in the contracts. If a supplier fails to meet the terms, the contract stipulates fines and repayment clauses.

He further dismissed claims of ammunition shortages, asserting that such accusations were misleading and based on manipulations.

“It is incorrect to claim there are interruptions in the supply of ammunition and other weaponry. This is simply a manipulation of the facts,” Demchenko concluded.ставках з боєприпасами, з іншим озброєнням – це невірно і цим просто маніпулюють», – додав Андрій Демченко.
