No bills to lower draft-eligible age below 25, lawmaker says

No legislative proposals to bring the age of mobilization down from 25 to 18 have been submitted to parliament, according to Fedir Venislavskyi, a member of the Ukrainian Parliament’s Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence. 

“As of today, no legislative initiatives aimed at lowering the conscription age below 25 have been registered in parliament. All the discussions on this matter are purely political rhetoric, which, in my firm belief as a member of the Ukrainian parliament, is unlikely to gain support in our committee or in parliament as a whole. Therefore, this is nothing more than demagoguery,” he stated during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
