Mykolaiv switched to electricity saving mode
Local authorities have reduced the number of electric transport by 60%. Currently, 14 trams operate in the city.
Oleksandr Sienkevych, Mykolaiv Mayor, made this statement in Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“I hope that Mykolaiv residents treat such measures with respect. In total, there are 300 units of municipal transport in the city,” Mayor added.
According to him, since the beginning of the invasion, citizens have become accustomed to electricity saving — from blackouts to abandoning the power consumption during the day. Now about 220,000 citizens still stay in the city, compared to 500,000 as before the war. Large enterprises are also out of operation; therefore, we do not need to ask for electricity much. In addition, local authorities are already ready to start the heating season.
