moscow Patriarchate Church in Ukraine undermined trust in vaccination, Health Ministry says

Ukraine’s Ministry of Health said its efforts to promote vaccination have been weakened by propaganda linked to the russia-linked Ukrainian Orthodox Church. 

Ihor Kuzin, Ukraine’s deputy minister of health, raised these concerns during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine. 

“The Ministry of Health promotes vaccination in every possible way. We have documented cases [of resistance to vaccination] in Ukraine that were influenced by religious communities,” a ministry official said. “The moscow Patriarchate Church played a particularly negative role, which significantly undermined public trust in vaccination.”
