More than half of Ukrainians believe that  the authorities are inactive in fighting corruption

This belief is supported by data from a study presented by Transparency International Ukraine at the Media Center Ukraine.

“A majority of Ukrainians (51%) believe the authorities are inactive in combating corruption, while nearly three-quarters (73%) are convinced that overcoming this problem requires systemic reforms. Only a third of respondents approve of the work of anti-corruption bodies, while 38% disagree with this statement,” noted Anastasiia Mazurok, Deputy Executive Director at Transparency International Ukraine.

At the same time, there is a widespread belief in the inevitability of bribes: 55% believe that nothing can be achieved without them. Overall, respondents more often disagree with the idea that issues in state institutions can be resolved without bribes.
