More than 4,000 students from occupied territories admitted to Ukrainian universities – Education Ministry
According to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, more than 4,000 students from the temporarily russian-occupied areas have entered Ukrainian universities this year.
There is a so-called Quota 2 for applicants from these areas, which allows them to be admitted to state-funded programs without competition. This was stated by Mychailo Wynnyckyj, Deputy Minister for Higher and Adult Education, during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“Out of 65,000 state-funded applicants, more than 4,800 people have been admitted under the quota for internally displaced persons,” Wynnyckyj said.
The ministry added that students from the occupied territories can apply through a simplified procedure that does not require the national multi-subject test. Special education centers have been set up at each university, where applicants can undergo interviews to qualify for admission.
