MOH reports a gradual increase in cases of acute respiratory viral infections
Over the past week, health officials recorded a 6% increase in cases of acute respiratory infections compared to the previous week.
Oleksandr Zaika, head of the Department of Infectious Disease Prevention and Immunization at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, reported this information during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“Last week, over 120,000 Ukrainians fell ill with acute respiratory illnesses. Approximately 70,000 of them were children. Since the beginning of September, over one million Ukrainians have fallen ill with acute respiratory illnesses, most of whom are children. We are not registering an epidemic, nor is the epidemic threshold being exceeded,” Zaika stated.
Medical professionals urge Ukrainians to stay home if they are ill and to consult their family doctors.
