Material support is most needed among veterans – survey results
The results of an online survey conducted among veterans in October-November 2024 show that almost 60% of respondents prioritize material support over other forms of assistance.
These results were presented by Anastasiia Selianinova, head of the educational and analytical department at the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation, during a presentation of the study on the current needs and problems of veterans at the Media Center Ukraine.
“We asked the question: what kind of support do you need the most? The vast majority chose material assistance. Specifically, 59.8% feel that this type of support is lacking,” she noted.
Respondents also cited the need for medical (12.8%), psychological (8.7%) and legal (8.6%) support.
“The top three needs remain consistent across our research. However, compared to our surveys in 2023, for example, the need for material support has increased. Currently, almost 60% consider it their top priority,” added Anastasiia Selianinova.
It should be noted that the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation conducted its sixth online survey among veterans, including both active and retired servicemen. The survey was conducted in October-November 2024 with 1,025 participants. The methodology involved collecting data through an anonymous online form.
Due to the difficulty of reaching respondents and obtaining information about statistical population, sampling requirements were not established. While the survey is not representative, it is intended to reflect the general issues facing the target audience.
