Last year, 48 people died in fires caused by the burning of dry vegetation – State Emergency Service 

March through November is the period with the highest risk of wildfires. Rescue workers urge people not to burn grass and to follow fire safety rules. Serhiy Batechko, deputy head of the Department of Civil Protection and Preventive Activities at the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, spoke about this at the Ukraine Media Center. 

“In total, over 61,000 fires were recorded last year, in which 65 people died and 182 were injured. Last year, 48 people died in fires caused by the burning of dry grass, and 133 were injured,” he noted.
