Kyiv residents get vaccinated against hepatitis A: Over 300 people vaccinated since May 10

Interest in vaccination against viral hepatitis A is growing in the capital following an outbreak in one of the city’s districts.

This was discussed during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

As noted by Nataliia Hunchenko, deputy director general of the Kyiv Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, 330 people, mostly children, have already been vaccinated in Kyiv.

“There is a vaccine against viral hepatitis A, but it is not part of the mandatory vaccination schedule. However, it is among the recommended vaccines. Given the current situation, we have made this information public, and people can purchase the vaccine at their own expense to vaccinate both adults and children,” Hunchenko explained.
