Kalush Orchestra to sell Eurovision trophy to collect money for Ukraine
Kalush Orchestra frontman Oleg Psyuk confirmed that the band is going to auction off the prize for their victory at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 to collect money in support of Ukraine.
He made this statement in Media Center Ukraine in Lviv on May 17.
“We’re planning to sell the trophy, yes. We want to sell the trophy to collect money for Ukraine. There are many people who can afford to donate a lot of money in support of Ukraine. And this trophy will be an additional prize,” Oleg Psyuk noted.
According to Kalush Orchestra frontman, all the details on the future auction will be posted on the band’s official Instagram account.
As reported, Kalush Orchestra won the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin on May 14. During the final performance, the band called to save Ukrainian fighters besieged on Azovstal Iron and Steelworks in Mariupol.
