It is crucial to restoring the Skovoroda Museum this very year – Oleksandr Tkachenko
UNESCO has pledged to allocate funds for the Hryhorii Skovoroda Museum restoration in Skovorodynivka village, which the russian invaders destroyed. A project for the museum building conservation with its subsequent restoration is already in place.
Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, made the relevant statement during the presentation of a collection of works by Hryhorii Skovoroda to commemorate the philosopher’s 300th birthday, which took place at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“Skovoroda’s books are being published, and this is a significant contribution to our understanding of Skovoroda and his contribution to the European understanding of Ukraine. But the destroyed Skovoroda Museum in Skovorodynivka is an unfinished Gestalt. UNESCO assured to allocate funds for one. There is a project for museum conservation with the subsequent reconstruction. And it is essential for us to do it this very year. I think it will be a significant symbolic step that the museum, once targeted by russian aggression, will be restored despite the war.”
