Interpol blocks russian requests since start of full-scale invasion

As russia’s war in Ukraine continues, Interpol’s General Secretariat has enforced restrictions on requests submitted by moscow for processing.

Vitalii Kasap, head of the International Police Cooperation Department, National Police of Ukraine, highlighted this during a discussion at the Media Center Ukraine.

“Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Interpol’s General Secretariat has decided to impose specific restrictive measures on the russian federation, particularly concerning any requests they submit for processing, including the publication of relevant notices through the General Secretariat,” Kasap said. “As a result, Interpol’s General Secretariat now reviews all requests from moscow’s National Central Bureau for compliance with its regulations, including Article 3, which strictly prohibits handling any data related to religious, racial, military, or political matters.”
