In 2025, the EU has earmarked a distinct grant to support Ukraine’s cultural and creative sectors amid the ongoing war

Alongside the general programs in 2025, the European Union has allocated a dedicated grant to support Ukraine’s cultural and creative industries as the war rages.

Anastasiia Obraztsova, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, shared this announcement during a panel discussion at the Media Center Ukraine.

“We are aware that, in addition to the broader initiatives, a dedicated grant has been allocated this year to bolster Ukraine’s cultural and creative industries during wartime. This is crucial,” she explained. “In wartime, I believe it is no longer sufficient for Ukraine to focus solely on the domestic market. Ukraine needs to share its story with the world. Creative Europe presents a powerful tool in this regard—not only by providing grants but also by fostering connections between cultural organizations from different countries, through the networking that takes place during the war, while also championing inclusivity and cultural diversity.”
