In 2025, 228 candidates were trained to mentor children from residential care facilities – Coordination Center for the Development of Family-Based Child Care

In 2025, Ukraine managed to train three times as many mentors for children from residential care facilities as in the previous year. Alina Lepskaya, program coordinator at the Coordination Center for the Development of Family-Based Care and Child Care, stated this during a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center. 

“In 2025, we managed to train 228 candidates to mentor children from residential care facilities and signed 103 mentoring agreements,” she noted.

According to Alina Lepskaya, 18,000 children live in residential care facilities. Therefore, mentors are needed.
