If we have gas, we’ll get through winter without restrictions – Oleksandr Kharchenko

Ukraine can avoid electricity restrictions this winter if sufficient gas supplies are available and if there are no new attacks on energy infrastructure.

Oleksandr Kharchenko, director of the Energy Industry Research Center, shared this assessment during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“If we have gas and no issues arise, then there will be no restrictions. We have enough generation capacity to produce electricity without limiting consumers – provided, of course, that we have the necessary gas volumes and that there are no further attacks or unforeseen changes. Overall, my personal forecast is that if we have gas, we will get through winter without restrictions,” Kharchenko stated.
