If Ukrainian society is concerned about something, russian fake news will definitely appear about it – Svitlana Slipchenko

In addition to the persistent narratives that russia uses in its information war against Ukraine, there are other levels of propaganda at play. For example, russia produces various kinds of fake news on current issues affecting Ukrainian society.

This was emphasized by Svitlana Slipchenko, Deputy Executive Director of Vox Ukraine, during the conference “Fact-checking in the Regions: Challenges, Difficulties and Prospects”, with Media Center Ukraine as a media partner.

“One level of propaganda is the reaction of russian propaganda to everything that happens in Ukraine and abroad. In other words, when we talk about the current themes of russian propaganda, we can look at the issues that are currently relevant in our society. If our society is concerned about something, there will definitely be fake news about it,” she said.
