How many paratroopers are in enemy captivity: coordinator for families of captured and missing of the 95th Brigade reveals statistics
Among Ukrainian paratroopers held as prisoners of war, there is a low percentage of releases and confirmations of captivity by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
This is evidenced by statistics from five brigades presented by Tetiana Hoidyk, coordinator of families of captured and missing of the 95th Air Assault Brigade, during a press conference at the Media Center Ukraine.
“I can only give statistics for five brigades. The numbers are truly grim; we have very few confirmed POWs. For the 79th Brigade, there are 101 prisoners confirmed by the ICRC, 27 without confirmation, and 60 have been released. For the 95th Brigade, there are 56 prisoners confirmed by the ICRC, 15 in captivity without confirmation, and 13 released. For the 46th Brigade, there are 9 confirmed by the ICRC, 20 in captivity without confirmation, and 22 released. For the 25th Brigade, there are 91 confirmed by the ICRC, 28 in captivity without confirmation, and 21 released. And for the 80th Brigade, their statistics are the saddest: 18 confirmed by the ICRC, 10 in captivity without confirmation, and with the latest exchange, 9 have been released as of today,” she noted.
