Germany among the top three suppliers of gasoline to Ukraine – Serhii Kuiun
Germany has become one of the main suppliers of gasoline to Ukraine, a development that initially surprised the fuel market. Today, German gasoline ranks third in terms of volume after Romania and Poland.
This was highlighted by fuel market expert Serhii Kuiun during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“An interesting development in Ukraine’s fuel supply system since the beginning of the full-scale invasion is the emergence of a new gasoline supplier – Germany. It was quite unexpected. 2022 has brought many surprises, including the presence of American diesel, Kuwaiti fuel, and now German gasoline. After Romania and Poland, Germany is the third largest source of gasoline for Ukraine,” Kuiun noted.
One of the main reasons for this shift is Europe’s overproduction of fuel.
“This happened because Europe currently has a significant fuel surplus and gasoline producers are looking for new markets. Ukraine is a new discovery for them. I think they are as surprised by the appearance of Ukrainian buyers as we are by the arrival of German gasoline,” he explained.
Kuiun emphasized that the increasing volume of supplies from Germany helps to diversify fuel sources and optimize prices in the market.
