Full-scale war highlights disparity and segregation in labor market – Milena Goryachkovska
The fact that today women are more likely to go into the fields of work that were traditionally considered male, is essentially the elimination of a disparity that has existed for a long time. At the same time, it is an opportunity to balance the labor market.
Milena Goryachkovska, Project Coordinator at the Ukrainian Women’s Fund, made this statement during the discussion at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“There is a noticeable trend that women are entering fields that have traditionally been considered male, and such demand and need are still high. But in fact, the full-scale war highlighted the existing disparity and segregation in the labor sphere. And the fact that women are now entering these fields is actually the elimination of the existing disparity. And this is actually also an opportunity to balance the labor market. Because many areas are at risk if these vacancies are not filled,” explained Milena Goryachkovska.
