From early October on, 343 have died so far from the coronavirus in Ukraine, including two children
People at higher risk are the most vulnerable to severe and fatal COVID-19 disease outcomes.
It was emphasized by Ihor Kuzin, Deputy Minister of Health, and the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“Regarding fatalities, the vast majority of them are due to confirmed cases of COVID-19. And here we should not forget that high-risk groups are the most vulnerable to severe illness death resulting from the coronavirus. As for the number, for example, since October, there have been 343 lives lost to COVID-19, and unfortunately, there are two children under the age of 17,” he said.
At the same time, according to Ihor Kuzin, today at least 12 million Ukrainians have not been vaccinated with a second booster shot, which means that their bodies can’t ensure the ability to provide a strong immune response. However, he emphasized that vaccination should be the basis for preventing the health of every Ukrainian.
“Therefore, if you are unvaccinated, you need to come and get a vaccine,” he added.
