Food prices may increase by 10-15% in autumn-winter period – Denys Marchuk

Such factors as energy carriers, which increased the production costs, the inflation, and the prices of fuel and lubricants will lead to a 10-15% increase in food prices in the autumn-winter period.

Denys Marchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Agrarian Council, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.

“Together, all these factors will lead to an average increase in prices in the range of 10-15% in the autumn-winter time period. And these are rather tangible, serious numbers. The only thing is that it, of course, will not happen all at once. This is similar to what we saw happen with bread, when over 2024 the price of bread increased by more than 14%, and in the following periods of time it will generally go up by 2-3-5%,” he said.

According to Denys Marchuk, such products as dairy, meat, baked goods and vegetables may become more expensive.
