First-ever independent audit of NABU set to take place this year
The first independent external audit in the history of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) is set to take place this year.
Semen Kryvonos, Director of the NABU, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“We, as the entire staff of the Bureau, and I, as its Director, will fully support the conduct of this independent audit. This will be the first time in the NABU’s history that such an audit is conducted, and I believe it is a crucial initiative. It is stipulated by Ukraine’s memorandum with the International Monetary Fund. And I believe that it is extremely important to conduct this audit in order to identify gaps in the Bureau’s activities, as well as highlight strengths and areas for improvement,” Semen Kryvonos emphasized.
He noted that international partners, in accordance with the legal requirements, submitted lists of candidates to the Cabinet of Ministers, so a corresponding decision from the Cabinet is expected in near future.
“Personally, as the Director, I look forward to the beginning of this important milestone in the history of the NABU,” he added.
