Exchange rate forecast: What to expect in early summer and by the end of the year
By the end of June, the hryvnia is expected to fluctuate between 41.2 and 41.5 per US dollar. However, a depreciation to 45 UAH/USD by the end of 2025 remains unlikely.
Andriy Dubas, President of the Association of Ukrainian Banks, shared this outlook during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
“It is difficult to make a forecast for the whole year. However, I believe that by the end of June the hryvnia-dollar exchange rate will fluctuate between 41.2 and 41.5. After June we may see its traditional reversal in the other direction,” he noted.
Andriy Dubas also expressed confidence that the hryvnia will not weaken to 45 UAH/USD by the end of 2025.
“I think that the Ministry of Finance is too pessimistic about the exchange rate formation, especially this year. There may be some depreciation by the end of the year, but I am sure that the hryvnia will not fall to 45 per dollar,” Dubas said. He also stressed that the National Bank of Ukraine would not allow such a sharp devaluation.
