
EU sanctions against russia drive drone strikes on Europe, expert says
Europe’s refusal to lift sanctions on Moscow is fueling russian drone attacks on European countries, a Ukrainian analyst said Wednesday.
Vadym Denysenko, head of the Business Capital Analytical Center, told reporters at the Media Center Ukraine that European nations are obstructing russia’s efforts to resume trade with the United States because they have blocked any resolution on lifting sanctions or advancing oil trade with the EU.
“From my perspective, this is why russia launched drone strikes on Poland and Romania – to test red lines,” Denysenko said. “putin is operating on the assumption that Europeans will ‘crumble’ and seek peace after the first serious blow.”
Denysenko emphasized that he strongly criticizes such tactics by the russian leadership.
