During the last 7 months, the defense forces have found and defused 32 mines off the coast of Odesa and Mykolaiv regions

This was stated by Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.

“Since the beginning of the year, 32 mines have been defused off the coast of Mykolaiv and Odesa regions. About 10 mines were defused after the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant dam was blown up, but we do not know whether they were river mines,” – the officer noted.

In addition, she told how a resident of Odesa region caught a river mine on the coast, confused it with a gas cylinder and brought it home to cut it into metal. It was only the intervention of the courts, which convinced him to call the sappers, that prevented the accident.
