Due to Polish strikers’ border blockade, Ukraine’s economy suffers over EUR 400 million worth of losses

According to the estimate of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, as of today the losses suffered by the Ukrainian economy due to the blockade of the borders by Polish strikers amount to more than EUR 400 million.

Volodymyr Balin, Vice President of the Association of International Road Carriers of Ukraine, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“The situation is really critical. I am not ready to say how other industries are suffering, although according to the estimate of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, our economy has already suffered more than EUR 400 million. We record the losses of our carriers based on the calculation of lost revenue – EUR 350 downtime cost per day,” he said.
