Disinformation and propaganda of the russian federation: Croatian expert warns of possible pressure on the issue of defenders and veterans

Ukraine may soon face pressure from the russians regarding defenders and veterans.

This was emphasized by Professor Gordan Akrap, Vice-Rector of Croatia’s University of Defense and Security, during a discussion on Croatia’s experience in countering Serbian (russian) disinformation and propaganda at the Media Center Ukraine.

“For example, and I think you will face this situation very soon – they (the russians – ed.) will use the issue of defenders’ and veterans’ rights. For example, there were disputes in some of our media about the veterans and their retirement. We were able to see how they tried to divide the veterans along various political influences, telling them: ‘The society doesn’t recognize you, the society and the state, the government treated you terribly, you have a very low pension but you deserve much more. Fortunately, we saw this, and we made efforts to solve this question,” Gordan Akrap said.
