Consul of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria: Six Chechen battalions fight in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Representatives of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria are currently fighting the russian aggressor as part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This was stated by Olena Sydorenko, Honorary Consul of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria in Ukraine, during a discussion at the Media Center Ukraine.

“A total of six Chechen battalions are fighting in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” she said.

According to Olena Sydorenko, the Chechen military understands that Ukraine’s victory over russia will pave the way for their country’s independence from the russian empire.

“They are defending Ukraine against our common enemy because they understand that if Ukraine wins, the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria will become truly independent. It will be the first republic of the russian empire to gain freedom, its people will no longer live under occupation, and they will become completely free,” she added.
