Collaborator sentenced to 6 years in prison in first trial in absentia; one of major ‘Gauleiters’ faces life imprisonment — Melitopol Mayor
The work of identifying and punishing collaborators, carried out by Ukrainians and the Ukrainian authorities in the temporarily occupied territories of Melitopol region, is beginning to bear fruit. Ivan Fedorov, Mayor of Melitopol, made this statement at a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“Yes, three weeks ago we received the first sentence in absentia for one of the collaborators, 6 years of imprisonment. Yesterday, the Security Service of Ukraine finished the pre-trial investigation and sent the case against Danilchenko, one of main ‘Gauleiters,’ to the court. She faces life imprisonment for treason against our state, for the fact that she has been involved in pro-russian activities since 2014. Her seizing power is the last drop,” — Fedorov said.
