Church fires reduced by half in 2024

Compared to last year, the number of fires in places of worship and facilities used for religious events has halved. Thus, 12 fires were recorded this year, while in the same period of 2023 their number was 24.

Oleksandr Khorunzhyi, Press Officer of the State Emergency Service, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“Since the beginning of the year, there have been 12 fires in religious buildings and objects used for events. If compared with the same period in 2023, there were 24 of them. In fact, the number of fires has halved, the decrease was recorded in 2024, compared to 2023,” Oleksandr Khorunzhyi noted.
